Pressensor for coffee machines with E61 group heads (M6 thread)

Unlock the full potential of your espresso machine with our pressure sensor and mobile app technology.

About pressure and flow profiling

Pressure and flow profiling is a powerful tool for understanding and improving the espresso extraction process. With the ability to track and analyze the pressure and flow of water through the coffee grounds, you can gain a deeper understanding of how different variables affect the final flavor of your espresso.

With a bluetooth enabled pressure sensor and scale, connected to a mobile app, you can easily view and analyze the data in real-time, and replicate the perfect espresso extraction every time. It's an essential tool for any coffee enthusiast or professional looking to take their brewing to the next level.

The pressure sensor

Our pressure sensor is a Bluetooth enabled device that easily attaches to your espresso machine and measures the pressure of the water flowing through the coffee grounds. The data is then sent to a mobile app for real-time analysis and improvements in taste, aroma and overall quality of your coffee.

Connected scales

A connected scale provides data on the weight of coffee and water used during the extraction process. This allows for more precise analysis and optimization of coffee-to-water ratio for the perfect extraction. Data is sent to the same mobile app as the pressure sensor for complete pressure and flow profile analysis. A wide range of well known scales is supported.

The Application

The Coffee Flow app is designed to work seamlessly with our pressure sensor and a wide range of connected scales. It allows users to view and analyze the pressure and flow data in real-time, and to save and compare different extraction profiles. The app provides a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to understand and interpret the data, allowing users to make informed adjustments to their brewing process.

Our pressure sensor is a Bluetooth enabled device that attaches to your espresso machine. It measures and records the pressure of the water flowing through the coffee grounds during the extraction process.

The data is then sent to a mobile app, which allows you to view and analyze the pressure profile in real-time, and to save and compare different extraction profiles.

This technology helps you to understand the impact of variables such as grind size, dose, and tamping on the final flavor of your espresso, and to make small adjustments that result in a noticeable improvement in taste, aroma and overall quality of your coffee.

The pressure sensor is by default equipped with an M6 connection thread for E61 group heads. Installation is easy: you just remove the screw from the head and screw in the sensor.

The sensor operates with a standard 2032 battery. (A good quality battery is recommended) The device operates in the pressure and temperature range of a normal coffee machine. Pressure peaks are tolerated up to 15 bar.

Compatible machines include: Lelit Bianca, Mara Rocket Espresso R58, Appartemento Profitec Pro 400, 500, 600, 700 ECM Puristika, Mechanika, Synchronika, Elektronika ...and many more

Assembly Instructions for E61 group heads

To install your pressure sensor in a coffee machine:

  1. Make sure the machine is cold and free from pressure before starting the installation process.
  2. Locate the E61 group head on your coffee machine. This is the part of the machine where the coffee is brewed.
  3. Find the hole on the E61 group head where the pressure sensor needs to be installed.
  4. Place the gasket that came with the pressure sensor onto the sensor. This will help create a seal when the sensor is screwed into place.
  5. Carefully screw the pressure sensor into the hole on the E61 group head, making sure it is tightened securely.
  6. Test the pressure sensor to ensure it is functioning properly. This can typically be done by brewing a cup of coffee and checking the pressure readings on the machine's display.

If the pressure sensor is not functioning properly, check to make sure it is properly tightened and that the gasket is in place. If the issue persists, you may need to consult the manufacturer for further assistance.

About the app

The Coffee Flow app is available on Google Play as well as on Apple App Store and Huawei AppGalery.

Please find a detailed walkthrough in the video below, or just continue reading.

The Coffee Flow app serves as a tool to analyze your coffee extractions and is constantly updated with new features and supported devices. The Coffee Flow app supports many bluetooth coffee scales, and the Pressensor pressure sensor. Want to have your device supported? Contact us!

The app itself is free and fully functional for everyone to use.

Some highlights of the app:

  • Display a reference pressure or flow curve to follow in the background!
  • Autostart on pressure - start the logging automatically when the pressure reaches a preset threshold! No need to push any button!
  • Virtual autotara - no need to tara the scale before starting the extraction. When logging starts, the app will automatically start measuring the weight from zero. This saves you from the annoyance of forgetting to tara the scale and getting messed up results. It also serves a clean workflow if you prefer to measure the grounds for each shot.
  • Sharing is caring - share your best shots with a picture on social media, or the raw data for further analyzing
  • Support for the Decent DE-1 - use the Decent in manual mode, displaying pressure and flow curves during the shot

Supported Bluetooth scales:

Acaia (all models)
Decent Scale
DiFluid Microbalance
Eureka Precisa
Felicita
Goat Story Gina
Hiroia Jimmy
Skale II
